Meet Sandra Pedroso

Sandra Pedroso is the daughter of Cuban immigrants and proudly calls Florida home. Her professional career spanned administrative leadership, corporate meeting planning, and human resources. Although she always found joy in writing, it was not until she made a promise to her son that she discovered her true voice as an author.

Her first book, The Cost of Courage: A Mother’s Story, was born from two deeply personal commitments: to fulfill her son Jason’s dream of becoming a published author and to help others better understand the lasting effects of military service, PTSD, and addiction on veterans and the families who love them.

Sandra believes every veteran has a story, and every family does too. Through her memoir, she seeks to foster compassion, deepen understanding, and remind military families that they are never alone in their journey.

In honor of Jason’s life, service, and sacrifice, Sandra donates 25% of the author’s royalties from The Cost of Courage: A Mother’s Story to the Wounded Warrior Project in Jason’s name. With every donation, she is committed to extending Jason’s Legacy by supporting veterans and the families who stand beside them.

Today, Sandra shares Jason’s story with the hope of encouraging meaningful conversations about the lasting effects of military service while offering comfort to families facing similar challenges. Her greatest wish is that readers walk away with a deeper understanding of the courage it takes to serve, the challenges that can follow, and the enduring power of love, compassion, and hope.
